The Dream of a River, Artwork Sets: 2024/2025

Drawings silkscreened on pre-hispanic handmade amate papers (each sheet is 60x40cm or 24x16in). Colored with natural fiber stains and tinted one-by-one with watercolor, every artwork is unique.

Only 8 painted sets of the three available, numbered and signed by Alex White.

Limited edition run of 50 sets of digitalized drawing and writing screenprinted on “hueso” (bone) colored cotton archival paper – assorted sizes, 50x35cm, 25x70cm, 35x50cm, 40x35cm. Signed and numbered by Alex White.

“El cortometraje “Temporadas de Lluvia” empezó sus grabaciones en el año 2018, junto con la producción del libro “El Tiempo en las Raíces”. En 2022 inauguramos esta película corta junto a las personas y paisajes cuyo trabajo, voz y conocimeinto aparece en el film.

Entre caminatas y reencuentros, las imágenes fueron proyectadas y revisadas en distintas partes de Oaxaca/México. Esta breve compilación es un agradecimiento a todas las comunidades campesinas, de pequeña producción y defensa de la biodiversidad. Sus saberes y luchas por la ecología protegen todas las formas de vida. Escucharles es una orientación pa’ la caminata.” Dani Eizirik

“Plants are responsible for the ascendency and bankcruptcy of entire countries. The culture of agave plants is linked to the human culture of Oaxaca in Southern Mexico. “Temporadas de Lluvia” documents four years of a nursery of agave seedlings raised from seed to stimulate biodiversity amongst producers of “traditional mezcal”, a traditional agave alcoholic drink that we see suffering (and thriving) from export. However, when delving into the subtleties of the communities that defend the plant, relationships with time and traditional knowledge point to dreams beyond the material.” Dani Eizirik.
