2) Guía del Vivero/Nursery Guidebook – Mayreli Santiago

Mayreli Santiago, who graduated university with a focus on conservation, is our second rezident, assisting in building and maintaining the vivero and agave population, and researching an agrosforestry approach to agave planting with trees. This approach seeks to support non mono-culture approaches to agave cultivation, where natural landscapes and (more) bio-diversity can be preserved and created.

Mayreli also created a guide booklet on how to build an agave vivero from scratch, and a concept for an “agave forest” with trees, to be realized for the municipality of Tule in May 2019.
