10 years of Rezpiral! Celebrated by doing what this project has always tried to do – by putting forth a generous amount of passion in creating another amazing collection. 19 sublime batches, all superbly crafted by hand by Abel Martínez, Berta Vásquez, Simeon Ramírez, Reína Sánchez & Alejandrina & Nicolas Hernández in their respective villages over recent years (SEE BELOW FOR LIST). Made possible by the relationships we’ve forged over the years, the agave planting and revenue-sharing program. The Tobalá in the ensamble, crafted by Berta Vásquez, feature Tobalá agave I (Alex) grew from seed in the nursury I used to run, and that Berta cared for on her lands for the last 7 years. This just for starters, as there are so many stories condensed here in these bottles.
Artworks-as-labels: For this round, I chose some of my more iconic drawings over recent years and created some new ones. Silkscreen printed one-by-one on labels cut from incredible handmade and hand painted/dyed papers made from banana fiber and the mulberry tree bark. The texture and colors are really something, enjoy!!
